WELCOME TO II SIMA -
INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON AGRICULTURAL MICROBIOLOGY
About the event
The Graduate Program in Agricultural Microbiology of the Federal University of Lavras promotes the II SIMA (International Symposium on Agricultural Microbiology). In addition, we will host the III CBMAAA (Brazilian Congress of Agricultural, Agricultural and Environmental Microbiology), in addition to our traditional XII National Meeting of Graduate Students in Microbiology of the Area of Agrarian Sciences and XIV Forum of Coordinators of graduate programs in Microbiology of the Area of Agrarian Sciences (ENAP). CBMAAA and ENAP are itinerant events that occur every two years by federal universities with graduate programs in Agricultural Microbiology. These events are important to our academic microbiology community in the field of Agrarian Sciences. Understanding the need and integrated approach of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United States) on One Health, which aims to unify, balance and sustainably optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems, we propose the theme: Microbiomes in One Health approach, focusing on the following topics: food security, sustainable agriculture, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), nutrition, animal and plant health and preservation of the environment. According to FAO, the One Health approach is essential to predict, prevent, detect, and control diseases that spread between animals and humans, combat AMR, ensure food security, prevent environmental-related threats to human and animal health, and tackle many other challenges.
This event aims to bring together professionals, professors-researchers and Brazilian and foreign undergraduate and graduate students. The event will address current and relevant issues of agricultural microbiology related to agriculture, agribusiness and the environment.
II SIMA is just around the corner, and we are so excited for you to see what’s in store. We’ve brought together a unique and inspiring group of speakers, and our schedule is full of engaging events and meetups. Don’t miss out!
